2019 - End of year slideshow

I’ve edited and delivered over 35,000 images this year, so narrowing that number down to just 55 of my favourite frames for this slideshow was extremely hard.

2019 started off with my first wedding of the year on Valentines Day with a lovely London elopement. Made even more special by the fact that the couple only booked me a couple of weeks before the wedding day.

With weddings all over the UK, France, and Spain, I’ve really enjoyed visiting lots of new venues I hope to shoot at again soon. One thing I’ve really noticed this year from my enquiries is that it seems a new wedding venue opens up every week in the UK!

On a personal note its been a very joyful year with us welcoming our beautiful second son Jonah into the world in April. His arrival prompted me to choose to take on less weddings this year than ever before and it has not only allowed me to give my couples the best service they deserve, its also allowed me to spend lots more time with my family.

Unlike previous years I’ve gone for a bit more of a slow song for this slideshow. At just 2 minutes long I promise not to take up too much of your day. Even though its a shorter slideshow than I’d normally make, its still full of fun, emotion, relaxed portraits and most off all (and my favourite)… documentary style wedding photography!

Many thanks to all of you that booked me to shoot your wedding this year… I hope you love the moments I captured for many years to come.

I’m really excited about my 2020 weddings, and have still got dates available if you’ve not yet booked a photographer… just get in touch!

Have a great Christmas everyone, and a very happy new year.

Ed.

Pumping House Nottinghamshire wedding photographer - Clare and Craig

“Wow Ed, Wow!

We've been through them all and immediately went back to look again, I can't stop taking them all in - there's so many!! We didn’t get to bed until late and I can’t wait to go back through them all again tonight. I love looking at the blog, such a lovely selection.

Nothing will ever be enough to express the enormity of our thanks, but from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We love them!

I'm trying to pick a favourite and can't - I love the big moments and the small. It’s easy to talk about the obvious big moments, half the time I can’t believe it’s our wedding I’m looking at. But I love the small, quiet moments too - the light on the floor tiles, Craig's hand on my back, the forest leaves - you've captured these so perfectly they make my skin tingle. Please don't ever underestimate the effect of these seemingly 'small' photos.

You were the best and easiest decision we made for our wedding. I could go on, but I won't because I think you already know just how much these photos personally mean to me (and of course Craig).

How on earth do we decide what to print?!!”

Were you a guest at this wedding? Below is just a selection of my favourite shots from the day, but why don't you take a look at their online gallery and download some photos... for free!

Nottingham wedding photography - Kayleigh and Bernie

Last month I photographed Kayleigh + Bernie getting married up here in Nottinghamshire. These guys really deserved the amazing weather they had on their big day. Such a cute, kind, and super-friendly couple, that were beaming with smiles all day long.

"Both Kayleigh and I want to thank you for capturing our day so perfectly!  Choosing the right person to photograph our wedding was really important to us and right from the first time we met you for our pre-wedding shoot in the Lake District, your calm, friendly, and professional approach made us feel totally relaxed!

The candid, magical moments you managed to catch blew us away.  So many of our family and friends were impressed with how professional and friendly you were; it was almost like you were another one of our guests on the day! We love the fact that we can share the HI-RES images with friends and family for them to download from your website and the way in which the photos were presented in your gift box which came through the post was just perfect.

Thanks again, Ed.  We will have no hesitation in recommending you to any of our family or friends who will be getting married in the future!"

Nottinghamshire pre-wedding shoot - Claire and Alex

Having a pre-wedding shoot is always a great way to settle any nerves you may have about having your photo taken on your wedding day. Even better if you can bring along your pet pooch and your cute little girl along for some family photos too. However, I think Baxter and Arielle were just there to provide a cute distraction from all the attention being on Claire and Alex.

It doesn't bother me though. I love it when couples want their kids or pets to join them on their pre-wedding/engagement shoot. Plus... don't they make the most attractive family? And yes, I am including Baxter in that!

I've known these guys since my days working on a photography magazine, and really can't wait to photograph them getting married at their stunning wedding venue near Rutland Water in the summer.
