The Barbican London wedding - Martha and Pete

Happy New Year everyone!

I’m extremely happy to share with you this gorgeous micro wedding I shot in London just before Christmas. Martha and Pete got married at the stunning St Giles Cripplegate Church in the Barbican estate. Not only was the church beautiful to shoot in, but the surrounding area provided such a cool backdrop for a quick wedding day portrait shoot.

I may have only been with this lovely couple and their friends and family for a few hours, but I enjoyed every minute of their mini wedding that took place during such a weird year, and in such surreal times. All you couples that have just powered-on through, dealt with postponement after postponement due to COVID, and been determined to just get married whatever the restrictions, I’m massively grateful and totally thankful for you wanting me to be there to document it!

I seriously hope I get to create far more blog posts than I was able to last year. Losing 30 weddings due to a pandemic was certainly something I never thought could, or even would happen. And having only 9 weddings to photograph all year was obviously why I was very quiet on my website in 2020.

Weddings DID happen however. They may not have been the massive party that couples had hoped and planned for, but they did happen! And when they did go ahead I made sure I was 100% focussed and extremely excited to be working, and creating interesting images and capturing important moments.

This was my last wedding of 2020, and now all my January, February, and March weddings have yet again postponed or cancelled, meaning I may not be shooting another one until April at the earliest. But I’m staying positive, I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and am hopeful of the vaccines making sure we can all meet up again soon, and celebrate big wedding days once again!
