Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding photography London - Roisin and Sam

“Thank you so much for sending us the images of our wedding, we were so excited to see them and went through all of them straight away (and again that evening and the next!)

You captured our wedding in the most perfect way and we honestly could not have hoped for better. It's been amazing to see all the moments throughout the day, especially the ones which we'd missed ourselves!

Working with you has been an absolute pleasure and we're so pleased we had you as part of our day, you made us feel completely at ease, and from speaking to our guests, they felt the same too!”

The Loft London wedding photography - Danii and Alex

“Hi Ed,

I cannot thank you enough! Yesterday was so long, I had to wait for Alex to come home and then we had dinner plans so we didn’t open these until 11pm last night.

We stayed up with gin and looked at them until 1.30am, swapping stories about each photo. They are just magical!

I’m going home today and can’t wait to show the family, they will love them all!

You’ve given us everything and more, we LOVE THEM!!! You absolutely nailed it xx

London wedding photography at the Asylum - Morgana and Raj

"Finding each other was so lucky, but finding Ed as a photographer is just being blessed!

Having Ed at our wedding has been like having a super-talented best friend with ninja and mind reading skills! Our pictures are beyond beautiful. On the day everything goes so fast that it would be impossible for us to catch every detail and moment. By looking at our pictures today we not only relive our special day, but realise how much of a fun and special day it was for everyone.

Thank you infinitely Ed."

Even before I set foot into bridal prep at Morgana and Raj's flat, I knew this wedding day was going to be laid-back, relaxed, and fun-filled.

From their initial contact with me, to the emails I received the week before the wedding, I was constantly re-assured that they totally trusted me to just shoot away, and capture their wedding day in a relaxed, reportage way.

Both Morgana + Raj, and all their guests were SO SO nice to me on the day... totally made me feel like one of the family... Chatty, friendly, and fun to photograph. Nobody took themselves too seriously, and nobody minded me snapping away, and getting up close and involved in the action on the hot hot hot dancefloor!

Buckinghamshire wedding photography at King's Chapel - Rachel and Chris

"We decided to book Ed having met him at a wedding fair and immediately liked his personal style and reportage-style shots. It was perhaps the easiest – and one of our first – supplier decisions and it’s no surprise he gets booked up so far in advance.

Having looked through the full set of images Ed supplied us with this week (over 1,000!) we’re delighted with the results. Ed managed to capture the day beautifully yet honestly, with the shots really telling the story of the day from start to finish. The emotion and personality Ed captures in his subjects really comes across.

Ed also captured a wide variety of shots styles – slow shutter speeds, softer focus, narrow depth of field, black and white, even cutout-style shots of some of the items from the day such as the order of service – there’s no doubt he’s an incredibly skilled photographer. To have such a variety of shots was really pleasing.

On the day, Ed did a great job of being unobstructive and blending into the background for the most part – capturing shots of us we didn’t even know he’d taken. But was clear and direct with guests (and us!) when he needed to get certain shots.

‘Posed’ shots were kept to a minimum – but those we did have were very stylish, with very well-chosen backdrops. Having so few posed shots meant we didn’t have to dedicate hours to getting the pictures taken and miss out on the fun. This does did mean that we missed out on some shots which would have been nice – like one of just the groom with his father – but that is a necessary and expected compromise when you go more of a documentary-style of photographer and if you have a shot list of 300 required shots, you’re probably not going to opt for Ed.

Ed’s website describes his pictures as ‘stylish, honest and creative’ – and that is very much the case when you see the results." - Rachel + Chris

"Thank you so much for the photos - we absolutely love them! You really managed to capture the day perfectly and going through them brought back many happy memories - we just wish we could do it all again!

Thank you also to Anna - we hadn't realised what a big difference having two photographers would make to ensure no bits of the day were missed.

The only problem is that we now have so many photos we can't choose which ones to print!

Best wishes, Laura and Stuart."

Nottingham wedding photography - Kayleigh and Bernie

Last month I photographed Kayleigh + Bernie getting married up here in Nottinghamshire. These guys really deserved the amazing weather they had on their big day. Such a cute, kind, and super-friendly couple, that were beaming with smiles all day long.

"Both Kayleigh and I want to thank you for capturing our day so perfectly!  Choosing the right person to photograph our wedding was really important to us and right from the first time we met you for our pre-wedding shoot in the Lake District, your calm, friendly, and professional approach made us feel totally relaxed!

The candid, magical moments you managed to catch blew us away.  So many of our family and friends were impressed with how professional and friendly you were; it was almost like you were another one of our guests on the day! We love the fact that we can share the HI-RES images with friends and family for them to download from your website and the way in which the photos were presented in your gift box which came through the post was just perfect.

Thanks again, Ed.  We will have no hesitation in recommending you to any of our family or friends who will be getting married in the future!"

Northampton Wedding Photography at Dodmoor House - Helen and Jordan

Sunshine... blues skies... and plenty of smiles... this March wedding had the weather of a hot summers day.

Helen and Jordan booked my half day package, but looking back at the images in this blog, I really feel like I captured a thorough story of the day, despite only being there for 5 hours!

A super-fun wedding at Lillibrooke Manor - Becca and Will

Sometimes very nice brides send me very nice thank you emails...

Sometimes they land in my inbox on a Monday morning...

Sometimes that makes me smile all week...

Morning Ed,

Where do I start....

We cannot thank you enough for our wonderful photos. They are incredible! We knew as soon as we got engaged that we wanted you to be our photographer, not only because I knew you from the Chronicle days, but because I have continued to follow your work. Your photos always put a smile on my face and are taken in a way that we knew we wanted for our own wedding.

We knew that our photos would be fab, but couldn't have imagined how brilliantly you would capture the emotion of our day -  peoples expressions, twinkles in eyes and all of the love and laughter we shared. We didn't want an off the peg wedding and you have helped us to show off all of our personal touches perfectly. To have so many as well was so unexpected - I squeaked with delight when I saw the number of images come up on the laptop, thank you! How lucky are we! We looked at them with one of our best men, his wife and my sister on Saturday evening. There was lots of laughter and a few tears as we went through them, sharing memories of our day together. I am now strategically arranging time to look at the photos with our other family members and friends, all on different days just so that I have an excuse to go through them all again and again.

You were a pleasure to have at our wedding. Everyone has said such lovely things about you and your photos and how they wished they'd known about you before their own weddings. You will be recommended far and wide, I'm certain!

If I ever have the money and if you ever decide you want to be my personal paparazzi and follow me around for all life occasions, let me know - haha.

Thanks so much again Ed.

All of the love and best wishes for you and your soon to be family of 3.

A lovely Spring wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns - Jade and Joe

Its always a mixture of emotions when I photograph my first wedding of the year, and this year was no different.  After a busy 2015, I'd decided to give myself an extra-long break over the winter period, so it was nearly 3 months since shooting my last wedding in December. Having a nice long break was bliss! And it also meant I was raring to go, and extra-enthusiastic about shooting again.

The first couple of the year to face my camera was the lovely Jade and Joe, who got married at the beautiful Shustoke Farm Barns in Warwickshire. I met up with the couple last year for their pre-wedding shoot in Nottingham, so it was by no means the first time I'd met them. They even treated me an awesome burger meal at Annies Burger Shack in Nottingham, and I had the Elvis burger (a meaty feast, dripping in jam and peanut butter. I kid you not!)... but anyway, thats another story...

It was however the first time I'd ever shot at this particular venue. Some couples are really worried when they find out their photographer has never shot at their venue, let alone even visited it! But I actually love not seeing a wedding venue until the big day. I'm a photographer that works fast, and doesn't like to plan. I'd much rather photograph things naturally, as they're actually happening, rather than staging something up in a certain area, just because another photographer has taken a pretty photo in that area in the past! I'm here to photograph YOUR day, not someone else's. I want to see it through my eyes.

Jade and Joe were the perfect couple, totally chilled out, and happy for me to just wander around and snap their day as it happened. They didn't let the chilly weather, or the slight drizzle dampen their spirits, and were more than happy to head out for a few portraits while the guests dug in to the canapes.

Thanks for letting me photograph your wedding day guys. I had loads of fun, and you both looked absolutely amazing! Joe, your vibrant tie was a top-class choice. And Jade, when you hopped out of the camper van wearing your black leather jacket, I've got to admit, in my head I was able to tick another photo off my wedding portfolio bucket list - 'Cool bride wearing a leather jacket' TICK!
